Director’s Message 2018

Welcome to the William C. Jason Library on the campus of Delaware State University named in honor of Dr. William C. Jason, the second President of the State College for Colored Students. Excellence in teaching, scholarship and research marks this great university. Our Library is committed in providing quality service and an excellent collection of materials to support the research needs of our faculty, staff and students.

thh-directorOur library offers a welcoming atmosphere to all users; the Horizon System provides an online catalog to the library holdings, automated circulation, and other computerized library systems. The library house over 400,000 volumes and has full text access to several thousand online database subscriptions and e-books. The library also offers DVDs and electronic access to full-text as well as newspapers, encyclopedias, research on current health, biographical, literary, humanities, art and current event databases. Access to these electronic databases is available from the website http://www.desu.edu/library. We encourage faculty, staff and students to take advantage of the resources, both traditional and virtual.

A positive atmosphere of learning is encouraged in the library. We offer the library as a place of respect for people and knowledge and we endorse a positive study environment in the building. Informational handouts, tutorials and subject guides are available for our users. Our staff looks forward to serving you by giving training to our faculty, staff and students in library resources and electronic catalogs. In addition:
